How to address employment gaps or changes in your career history

Many of us have experienced gaps in our employment or changes in the industry or types of positions we have worked in. When it comes to applying for a new position, we ponder on how best to address this. How do we come across as capable for the position, and show we are not just jumping into a different position because it might suite us at the moment? How do we stand out to a potential employer and let them know we really are interested in that opportunity?  And that our unique employment history will be the best fit for that position? LinkedIn just published this blog that will help you tell your story in the best possible way to a potential new employer. Like always being prepared to answer those tricky questions during an interview such as why you were unemployed for so long or why did you make that career change along the way.

You are unique, and so is your career path. Learn to tell a great story to potential employers that will have them intrigued, interested and wanting to make you an offer for that job you really want!
