Lake Grove Job Seekers

Please join us at Lake Grove Job Seekers every Monday from 8:30-10:30am if you need help or support as you pursue your next job or career opportunity.

Led by business professionals (“Mentors”) with years of experience, Lake Grove Job Seekers (LGJS) is a program dedicated to helping you find a job or change careers. The program leverages the diversity of experience offered by Mentors from a variety of backgrounds who volunteer their time to help Job Seekers. It is offered at no charge and is open to anyone seeking assistance finding a job, a new career, or exploring the option of something other than a “9 to 5” job.

Our approach combines weekly meetings with experts, with offline group or individual mentoring. Guest speakers are either content expert professionals or program Mentors who share ‘best practices’ and advice to help you navigate the job search or career transition process. Job Seekers are encouraged to attend the weekly meetings, as they are a source of ideas, a place to learn from others, and a place for support.

What’s unique about the program is the free 1-1 or group mentoring. In a more private setting, you receive individualize coaching to help you improve or refine your search materials, straetgy, or content … in addition to the much needed emotional support anyone going through this process can use.

LGJS meetings count as a “job seeking activity” with the OR Dept of Employment. We have had >1700 successes since we started the program and will do our very best to help you too.

We are currently meeting on Zoom however we hope to return to in-person meetings by the end of 2021. When we do so, our non-denominational meetings are held at the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church in Lake Oswego.
