Last night we hosted our monthly pdxMindShare career-focused workshop & networking event at Trader Vic’s, and had the pleasure of having recruiters from the Audigy Group, Stratus Dental & Audigy Medical present. They gave great advice on defining and landing your ideal opportunity from start to finish. From networking and following companies attendees are interested in working for, to preparing your resume and cover letter and interviewing, they covered it all. This group sees hundreds of resumes daily and interviews frequently. They addressed some of the frustrations they experience during this process including seeing resumes that didn’t tell a clear story, candidates not being excited about the opportunity they were interviewing for, and interviewers not asking good questions, or any questions at all, about the company. They really encouraged attendees to define their values and what they want from a position and be able to relay that to the recruiter/hiring manager. They also answered many good questions asked by those in attendance.
