As the Developmental Disability (DD) Director, you will be responsible for managing staff, community relationships and the activities of the program, client, program and operational outcomes, sharing accountability for those outcomes with the Chief Operations Officer for DD. This work is accomplished through brokerages, community developmental disability programs and Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) homes.

You will oversee developmental disability policy which affects all developmentally disabled activities in the state of Oregon as your role significantly impacts the State's principal human services goals and objectives in delivering services to the developmentally disabled population in the State.

You will represent the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and the Developmental Disabilities programs at the state legislature, with federal and Tribal partners, at interdepartmental and interagency settings and with the private sector. In addition, you will be representing the Developmental Disability program on committees, work groups and task forces, both internal and external to ODHS and in contacts with other ODHS staff and with the public.

As the DD Director, you will develop and maintain strong linkages with all parts of ODHS, especially those who provide direct service delivery to clients across the state, in support of development, implementation and provision of services to people with disabilities across Oregon using highly developed adaptive skills to develop solutions. You will assure program design, policies, delivery, administrative rules, consultation, and training of the section’s program areas comply with federal and state statutes, and the mission of ODHS.
