We are seeking a Compliance Specialist 2 (Hearings Representative) to join our Appeals team part of the Office of Training, Investigations and Safety.

 

As a hearing representative will have the opportunity to manage a caseload of hearing requests for the Office of Training, Investigation, and Safety by completing the contested case proceeding. As the hearing representative, you determine if a hearing request is hearable and timely filed. You will be responsible for reviewing Department decisions challenged through proper hearing requests by factual investigation, rule research, and applying rules to facts. You will interview claimants, explain actions and prepares and issues dismissal orders. In this position, you will act as an agency lay representative in contested case hearings before the Office of Administrative Hearings. You will prepare witnesses and documents for hearings, including the contested case notice. Lastly, you will testify under oath in support of Department decisions and develop and ask questions of witnesses who support and oppose the Department's position.

What you need to qualify

  • Four years' experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
  • Two of the four years must be above the technical support level. (Note: some positions may require experience in a specific regulatory industry or program)
