Chief Community Engagement Officer, TAO

Cara Snow is a high energy, civically minded executive and a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up outside of Atlanta, attending the University of Georgia and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before beginning her career in technology as an in-house recruiter for CTS, a regional technology consulting firm. Over 8 years, she moved into channel management and business development before becoming the Atlanta Director. In 2016, she joined the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) where she became the first Chief Development Officer, leading funding initiatives and community engagement efforts to educate, influence and unite Georgia’s innovation economy.

Jeff Gaus
Founder/EIR, Oregon Enterprise Blockchain Venture Studio

Jeff is the Founder of the Oregon Blockchain Venture Studio (OBVS) which is establishing Oregon’s prominence in this emerging technology. Additionally, Jeff serves as the Board Chair for Young Entrepreneurs Business Week (YEBW) whose mission is: to educate and inspire the next generation of business leaders. Jeff is a seasoned technology executive having served as the CEO of Prolifiq Software, VP Marketing for eFusion, and Executive Director of Healthcare, Education and Government for NEC. Jeff completed his education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Marketing and post-graduate work at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.

Alpen Sheth
Portland State University

Alpen has a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, M.A. in Geography at the University of Miami and a B.A. in Anthropology and South Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago. He co-founded a blockchain R&D startup, the Economic Space Agency in 2016 and later became Head of Product at Ethersic, a blockchain-based insurance network based in Switzerland. Alpen is Visiting Faculty at College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs, and Faculty Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Solutions at Portland State University. He has worked as a consultant at MIT, the World Bank, Harvard School of Public Health, Risk Management Solutions, and co-founded a research institute in Haiti. He has published research on smart contracts and blockchain, most recently in the Journal of Managerial Finance and blogs about blockchain technology and crypto-economics.
