Meet Jason, a Movie Director & pdxMindShare’s July Speaker

Our July pdxMindShare event takes place next week, Wednesday, July 15th, back at our favorite spot: Trader Vic’s. We are truly excited to have a movie director, Jason Satterlund of Big Puddle Films, present to our group and bring a unique perspective on how to make yourself memorable. He makes movies and wants those who see them to remember them fondly and refer them to others just like we want people we meet to remember us and refer us to others. And that is what he is going to do: help us tell our stories in a way that others will remember us and hopefully think of us for job openings, business opportunities and more. Jason will kick off around 4:30PM and you’ll have the opportunity to network with dozens of Portland professionals afterwards. Additionally, if you can’t make it to the event, you can check our Facebook page or Twitter feed for a link to watch Jason speak virtually through Periscope. The link will become available when the presentation begins. This event is completely free, everyone is welcome and no RSVP is required.

Please take a moment to meet Jason and see why you should attend Wednesday’s event. We hope to see you there!

Meet Jason Satterlund:

Tell us a little about yourself:
I am Jason Satterlund and I have been directing films for 25 years. I have directed feature films, commercials, music videos and documentaries in the United States and in 28 countries. There is nothing I love more than telling stories and moving an audience with emotion. It is the greatest job in the world.

I currently reside in Portland, Oregon but I work all over the world. Not only do I direct, but I speak and teach at events to train future film makers, inspire students, and help business owners build better companies.

What will you be covering in your presentation?
There is nothing more potent than the power of story. I will teach people how to create their own stories so that their job applications are more than just facts on a page.

Why should Portland professionals attend?
Because I have worked all over the world, I have learned what people remember and respect. I haven’t spent my entire life in Portland so I have a unique background that you won’t often hear from a Portland speaker. Also, how often will a movie director speak to a group like this!?

What are the top 3 takeaways for attendees?

  • Attendees will learn what makes them hirable, beyond their basic skill set and experience.
  • They will learn how to find a purpose so that their job won’t just be about money, but will ultimately make the world a better place.
  • They will learn how to tell their own story and be remembered.
