We are excited to kick off 2015 with a number of excellent speakers for our pdxMindShare career-focused workshops & networking events. Each month, we bring in expert speakers that equip our attendees with information to help advance careers, secure new jobs, change careers, or just looking to excel in their current position. Events are held at Trader Vic’s in downtown Portland on the 3rd Wednesday of each month with a fabulous happy hour which includes a popular and yummy mai tai. The career-focused workshops begin at 4:30PM, and networking to follow at 5:30PM. Events bring in 40 to 80 Portland professionals representing a spectrum of industries that encompass career seekers and employers looking to hire. Everyone is welcome, and the there is no fee to attend.

January 21st, 2015 with Jane Boutwell
Jane Boutwell, new to pdxMindShare, will present on “Why You” and how to answer that question effectively when asked, “Why you are the best person for a job, position or be considered over other candidates?” Attendees will walk away with concrete tools on how to prepare for interviews or sell yourself why networking and be able to effectively answer “Why You?”
February 18th, 2015 with Kent Lewis
President of Anvil and pdxMindShare founder, Kent Lewis, will join MindShare to discuss “Tips for Building a Successful Career.” Having moved to Portland in the late 90’s with just one connection, he worked to build a successful business and grew Portland’s premiere networking group in addition to many other accomplishments. He’ll share some tips and tricks he’s learned along the way to help attendees navigate their careers in the best way possible.
March 18th, 2015 with Jenny Foss
Jenny Foss, of JobJenny.com will present on “How to write a killer cover letter.” As one of Portland’s top career coaches, Foss has written many cover letters for plenty of professionals. This is such an important component of a job search and one that needs the most work. Come learn from the best how to write a cover letter sure to wow potential employers!
